Director’s Message

It is a privilege to lead IMT Ghaziabad and a special honour to return to an institution with which I share a long association. For me, this is more than a leadership assignment; it is a homecoming. I am grateful for the warmth and trust of our faculty, staff, students and alumni as we shape IMT Ghaziabad's next chapter together.

Founded in 1980, IMT Ghaziabad was envisioned by Shri Mahendra Nath as an institution that would combine theoretical knowledge with practical capability. That founding purpose remains remarkably relevant. In a world being reshaped by artificial intelligence, sustainability and changing models of work, organisations need professionals who understand concepts deeply, apply them intelligently and exercise judgment when the answers are neither complete nor obvious.

We have therefore reaffirmed our identity as A Professional School Contributing to the Knowledge Economy.

This purpose is expressed through our Role-Competency Framework. We begin with a different organising question: not only what subjects should we teach, but what must a graduate be able to do in a chosen role? The framework connects roles with competencies, courses, experiences, mentoring and evidence of readiness. It also recognises that no two students bring identical strengths or aspirations. Each learner is encouraged to understand individual capabilities, make informed choices and take ownership of an evolving developmental journey. We seek to make our graduates role-ready without making them role-bound.

Professional readiness at IMT Ghaziabad rests on a broad educational foundation. Conceptual understanding is deepened through application, reflection and engagement with industry, international contexts and communities. Technology and AI are integrated across disciplines, while human judgment, social responsibility and the ability to balance competing stakeholder interests remain central to leadership.

External recognition through international accreditation, global rankings and research impact is encouraging, but it matters primarily as evidence of the commitment of our community and the continuing relevance of our work. IMT Ghaziabad draws strength from its faculty, industry and international partners, and from an alumni community contributing across business, entrepreneurship, public service and civil society.

I have always believed that education must nurture both curiosity and character. For me, leading a business school begins with remaining a teacher: listening to students, learning with colleagues and keeping the classroom at the centre of institutional life. We want our graduates to build successful careers, but also to make wise choices, act with integrity and leave their organisations and communities better than they found them.
