Understanding these changes has been both crucial and critical to the success of the practicing manager. The technological changes and business practices are rapidly. Keeping pace with time and staying ahead has been the most demanding challenge of all the managerial skills required today.

A variety of learning tools are used for the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Role-play, case study, project-work, field experience, assignment, quiz, seminars, industry visits are some of the methods used. Student managers are encouraged to develop analytical judgement and presentation skills through writing and publication of articles, features and presentations, at various for a including leading national dailies and journals and in-house publications, workshops and seminars.

 
Summer Training and Projects
 

Apart from other tools of learning, one way of learning business is by action and participation in research. Each student is required to undergo an eight-week summer training at leading corporations by undertaking a project of direct relevance to the concerned organisation. Subsequently, a presentation on the project and a viva-voce before a panel of experts is held.

 
Course Structure
 

Basics of all functional areas such as Marketing, Finance, HRD, Operations and Systems are included in the course design. Courses in managerial economics and economic environment of business provide an awareness of the business and its economics environment at international, national and industry levels. Global business helps students acquire international perspective in decision making. Business ethics and environment management represents the concern of business towards society. Courses in strategy inclusive of business process re-engineering, integrate the application of knowledge across functions at the action stage in a business organization. Each student has to choose one or two functional areas of specialization and study optional courses. These optional courses provide inputs as tools and techniques in the respective sphere of activity. The courses are covered with a futuristic view of business and incorporate long-term needs of industry in the technological, managerial and decision-making areas.
