An operation is a key function in any business organization. In fact, it is hard to imagine an organization without an operations function. It performs the most basic function of converting inputs into useful output be it a manufacturing or a service organization. Basic knowledge of Operations Management, is in fact, a pre requisite for any aspiring manager whatever be his field of specialization.
IMT provides basic knowledge of Operations Management through core courses: Operations Management I and II of three credits each, which are compulsory for every student pursuing a PGDBM course. The faculty has had extensive experience in the industry and able to give the right combination of academics coupled with examples from the industry. Visiting faculties are also well known people in academics.
Though the institute does not provide a full specialization in Operations Management at the moment, it provides a dual specialization in Operations Management coupled with other fields like Marketing and Information Technology.
