Dr Alok Pandey is a Doctor of Philosophy (International Finance) from University of Lucknow and holds a Masters degree in International Business Administration (MIBA) from Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University (FMS, BHU). He also holds the Professional Diploma in International Banking and Finance (DIBF) from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). He is an individual member of Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), USA and permanent member of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF), India.

As an Associate Professor in Finance & International Business area at Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (IMT, Ghaziabad), he teaches International Financial Management, Financial Derivatives, Treasury Management and Financial Management in the full time postgraduate programmes. He has also been a Senior Associate Professor at National Institute of Financial Management (Ministry of Finance, Govt of India) where he taught Strategic Financial Management, Strategic Management and Research Methodology in Postgraduate & Doctoral programmes.

As a visiting professor he has taught full term courses on International Finance and Risk Management at the postgraduate programmes of several premier institutes of India such as Indian Institute of Management (Lucknow), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (New Delhi), Goa Institute of Management (Goa) and University of Lucknow. He has also delivered special guest lectures on Integration of Global Financial Markets at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Banaras Hindu University and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

He has acted as paper setter and examiner for several Universities, national level institutes and statutory accounting bodies in the country for courses on Valuation, Derivatives and International Financial Management and is an expert member of faculty selection committees of several institutes and academic bodies including those under Ministry of HRD. He is an accredited supervisor for guiding research work, leading to award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy under IMT-GGSIP University joint Ph.D. programme.

He has been a member of the review committee of ICWAI for reviewing the exposure draft on ‘Foreign Currency Transactions-Loss or Gain by Exchange Rate Variation’ (Proposed Indian Government Accounting Standard). He is also associated with several Stock & Commodity Exchanges and Academic Institutions in advisory capacities for curriculum restructuring and development.

His research interests include Financial Intermediation and Integration of Financial Markets, Financial Risk Management & International Corporate Finance. He has co-authored a market bestselling text book on International Finance entitled ‘Multinational Business Finance’ (Published by Pearson Education, 2007) and has contributed several research articles in refereed national journals and proceedings of International and National Conferences.

He has conducted in company and open management development programmes on Foreign Exchange Management, Risk Management and Financial Derivatives for officers of the Govt. of India and senior executives of both public and private sector companies and industry associations in India such as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC), Indian Railway Construction Corporation (IRCON), Dabur India Limited, GE Capital (now GENPACT). He is also closely associated with the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) for training of senior finance executives of public and private sector companies.
