IMT Ghaziabad's breaking international associations set a new trend for management education in India

IMT Ghaziabad has signed three MoUs with big names in the international B-School arena. Each international institute comes with expertise in different areas of management and is backed by a sound reputation gained over time.

Delhi 13th June, 2012: IMT Ghaziabad, one of the most forward-thinking and globally connected institutes in India, signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with three B-Schools from different parts of the world.

International Business School of Service Management (ISS), Hamburg, Germany, tied up with IMT Ghaziabad to offer a certification programme in Service Management. This qualification has behind it the idea of promoting cultural exchanges between students, researchers, corporates and faculty. The programme is planned in a way that students get to work as they learn, the advantage being that they can apply their learning to their job straight away.

“There is a deep talent pool in India which requires exposure; we need to make avenues, channels, for people to reach out to the global market,” said Dr. Bibek Banerjee, Director, IMT Ghaziabad.

“We need international managers and diversity in Germany, that is why a collaboration with IMT. We have similar practical issues, technology driven issues, and a strong mind of service and customer relationship,” said Michael Rene Weber, CEO, ISS .

A first for any B-School in India, the second MoU IMT Ghaziabad signed was with Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM), France. This is for the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) qualification. The three year DBA is structured such that students can combine careers and doctoral research.

“There has been a recent growth in the Indian Industry wherein senior executives, after actualising their career goals, experience an inner motivation to generate education and teach the next generation,” said Dr. Banerjee, Director, IMT Ghaziabad.

“Grenoble has been running this programme for almost 20 years now. The idea of working around management tech was very interesting and that is why the collaboration between IMT and GEM,” said Dr. Benoit AUBURT, Associate Dean and Director of Doctoral Program, Grenoble Ecole de Management.

The third MoU was signed with Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Denmark, a traineeship B-School and one of the largest Management institutes in Europe.

Speaking of the tie-up, Dr. Banerjee, Director, IMT Ghaziabad said, “We are glad that we are entering into a broad-based partnership with CBS. It would revolve around faculty and student exchanges between the two schools as well as research co-operation.”
