IMT Ghaziabad and ISS Hamburg sign MoU on collaboration in business education

IMT Ghaziabad has concluded a strategic MoU with International Business School of Service Mangement (ISS), Hamburg, regarded by many as the global benchmark in B-school in Service Management studies for executives and professionals in-charge of the development , design and marketing of services. The MoU was solemnized on the 13th of June 2012. The partnership has been forged with the purpose of actively supporting and furthering academic and professional expertise, and to promote cultural exchange between the students, lecturers, researchers and the corporate world.

Outlining the structure of the MoU and its deliverables, Mr. Michael René Weber, CEO, ISS Hamburg said the German MBA programme will be structured in such a way so that half the course would be in India while the other half will be in Germany.

“The choice of location in the 4th Semester – IMT Ghaziabad or ISS Hamburg - will lie with the student. We need international managers in Germany; diversity is the need of the hour. That is why a collaboration with IMTGhaziabad. We have similar practical issues, technology-driven issues and a strong bent of mind towards service and customer relationship. The programme will focus on classroom pedagogy as well as learning at work, through a traineeship within a company. ”

Giving out the IMT Ghaziabad perspective on the partnership, Dr. Bibek Banerjee, Director IMT Ghaziabad observed that, “there is a deep talent pool in India which requires exposure. We need to constantly make avenues and channels for people to reach out to the global market. IMT Ghaziabad prides itself on being an innovative B-school; we want to practice what we preach. The model that we have stitched up together is - learning at work; learning in teams.Involving theoretical inputs makes it a far more relevant modal of information.”

Dr. Banerjee said that the ultimate target of the programme was to ensure that all participants are enabled to improve productivity and services quality of their respective national and international companies, ensuring their corporate development and profitable growth.
